AIRBORNE LiDAR
Airborne LiDAR systems mounted on helicopters, airplanes or Unmanned Aircraft Systems are used for topographic LiDAR mapping.
-
Airborne laser scanning is a rapid, highly accurate and efficient method of capturing 3D data of large areas, such as agricultural or forestry sites, urban areas, industrial plants, etc.
-
Airborne sensors also have the speed and flexibility to survey many square kilometres in a single flight, even over rough or inaccessible terrain.
-
Airborne LiDAR can acquire high precision and density elevation data of terrain surface; with support of high-precision GPS and INS, it can build high-precision DTM (Digital Terrain Model) without lots of ground control points.
-
Airborne LiDAR is one of the most effective and reliable means of terrain data collection.
-
The effective processing of the raw LiDAR data and the generation of an efficient and high-quality DEM remain big challenges, but it is no more a challenge as we swept it over with our experience and mastered it.
